44-year-old man arraigned for obtaining N1.35m under false pretence

A 44-year-old man, Fayemi Shadrack, on Monday appeared at an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly obtaining N1.35 million under false pretence.

He pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and obtaining money under false pretence.

Prosecuting Sergeant John Iberedem said the defendant committed the offence last December at 6, Ademibuyon Street, Agbede Ebuwawa, Owutu, Ikorodu.

He alleged that Shadrack conspired with one person, who is at large, to fraudulently obtain N1.35 million from the complainant, Imocha Benedict.

Chief Magistrate F. A. Azeez granted the defendant N200, 000 bail with two sureties in the like sum. She adjourned till September 15.
