Cross River Police parade medical student for cultism

The Cross River State Police Command on Tuesday paraded a fourth year student of Medicine and Surgery in the University of Calabar for alleged cultism and illegal possession of firearms and military uniforms.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, said the suspect, Ikezue Nnamdi Kingsley, was arrested by a team of anti-cultism/kidnapping squad while on patrol.

Ugbo said the suspect had confessed to the crime.

She said items recovered included one locally fabricated revolver pistol, two live .3mm ammunition, seven compressed rolls of Indian hemp, Aiye secret cult regalia sand a pair of military camouflage uniforms.

She said investigation has commenced to unravel the source of the weapons, military uniforms and drugs.
