Servicom Charges EFCC Detectives on Discipline, Courage

Director, SERVICOM Headquarters at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Jummai Abdullahi, has charged newly inducted detectives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Ibadan Zonal Office, to apply the values of discipline, courage and endurance gained during their induction in the discharge of their duties as investigative and front desk officers of the Commission.

“There is the need for you as officers to imbibe right attitude to work, possess good communication skills and ensure that you improve on dressing and personal appearances,” Abdullahi said.

Abdullahi gave the charge in a paper titled, “Sensitization of EFCC Frontline Desk Officers on Service Excellence”, delivered at a one-day in-house training programme held at the office of the EFCC in Ibadan, Oyo State, on April 27, 2019.

She charged them to always represent the Commission well in all they do, adding that they owe it a responsibility not to fail the Commission and the country.

According to her, the essence of the military drilling received during their training, was to make them better and be more serious with the task placed on their shoulders.

She further charged them to “always represent the Commission well in all you do”, adding that “you owe it a responsibility not to fail the Commission and the country in the effort to rid the nation of economic and financial crimes”.

Also in his paper titled, “Value-Driven Public Service Delivery: Need For Exceptional Service”, Farouk Basharu, a senior officer from the EFCC’s Servicom office at its Abuja Head office, stressed the need for good human relations.

“The EFCC values quality service delivery,” he said, adding that it was what informed the decision to organise the training programme for front desk officers across the zones and the head office.

Friday Ebelo, Head of the zone, stressed that the training, was designed to inculcate in the detectives, core values of the EFCC, as well as remind them of the need to remain courteous in relating with the public, including suspects under investigation.
