Gboyega Isiaka

The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress in Ogun State, Gboyega Isiaka, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to reflect the will of the people in the final results of the governorship election in the state.

Isiaka, who alleged that the National Assembly election was besieged with irregularities, said there was an improvement in the performance of INEC in the governorship election.

He added that he was confident of emerging  victorious in the election after casting his vote in Imeko-Afon area of the state.

Isiaka said, “I think the election today is an improvement on the National Assembly election that was fraught with a number of irregularities.

“Many stakeholders across the nation condemned the anomalies and from what I saw where I just voted and several reports from different location, I want to give INEC pass mark for the effort.

“That is not to say there weren’t infractions, and attempted compromise by opposition parties in certain areas. By and large, the next level of collation is very critical and that is where most election results are falsified.

“I hope INEC will live up to its responsibility to the process by being fair to all parties and allow the will of the people to reflect in final results.”

Isiaka said he was optimistic of victory at the end of the exercise, expressing the belief that the people of Ogun State had decided vote for good governance.
