Federal Government shuts borders in Sokoto, Adamawa, others ahead of supplementary polls

The Federal Government has directed the closure of the land borders in Adamawa, Benue and Sokoto States with effect from 12 noon of Friday, March 22 to 12 noon of Sunday, March 24, 2019.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, disclosed in a statement.

He said that the directive by the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.)  was meant to restrict movements across the borders of the affected states during the elections on Saturday.
