European Union Election observers visit EFCC

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu today, March 12, 2019, reiterated the importance of the support of the European Union to the Commission in the fight against economic and financial crimes.


Magu made this while receiving members of European Union Election observers on a working visit to Makurdi zonal office of the Commission. Speaking through the Zonal Head, Johnson Babalola, Magu noted that the EFCC had taken its campaign against vote-buying and selling to the public because it was becoming a menace.

“Vote-buying and selling is a serious criminal offence, and anybody found wanting would be arrested, investigated and prosecuted”. He said further that the Commission remained committed to eradicating electoral malpractice.

Speaking onbehalf of the delegation, Danelle Sffrra and Adrune Marquis, representatives of European Union Election Observation in Nigeria, commended the EFCC for its roles in fighting Vote-buying and selling in the country.
