The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide on Tuesday said President Muhammadu Buhari’s second tenure would present a lot of benefits for the people of the South-East and all Nigerians.
It said the Buhari government would do well in fixing the economy and fighting corruption.
The council’s President-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, stated this in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, when a coalition of Igbo youth groups paid him a courtesy visit.
The Igbo youth groups included World Igbo Youth Council, South-East Women Professionals and Igbo Students Movement.
“The increased ongoing work on most of the federal roads in the South-East, especially the Enugu/Port Harcourt Express Road and Onitsha/Enugu Express Road, points to the fact that Buhari means well for Ndigbo and the entire South-South,” Isiguzoro said.
He called on Buhari not to be deterred by the antics of some Igbo leaders who, according to him, were dwelling in the past.
He also urged the President to take the issue of restructuring seriously.
According to him, since the zone supported Buhari during the elections, “The Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation should be zoned to South-East.”
