Buhari’s octogenarian sister treks 100m to vote in Daura

Hajiya Rakiya Adamu-Amadodo, 84-year-old surviving elder sister of President Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday discharged her civic duties by casting her vote during the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.


A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria in Daura reports that the octogenarian covered a distance of 100 metres on foot to her Kofar Baru 002 polling unit in Daura to exercise her franchise at exactly 12.34 pm.

Adamu-Amadodo was escorted by her grand-children, relations and well wishers to the voting venue.

Her polling unit had no fewer than 854 registered voters who were expected to cast their votes.
