Two candidates of the All Progressives Congress, Mrs. Meranda Mojisola; and Mr. Olumuyiwa Wahab, have emerged winners of the Apapa Constituency I and II for the Lagos State House of Assembly election.
The Returning Officer for the State House of Assembly elections, Dr. Aderonke Lawal-Are, declared Mojisola winner of the Apapa Constituency I.
Lawal-Are, from the University of Lagos, said “I, Dr. Aderonke Lawal-Are, hereby certify that Meranda Mojisola of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of law and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”
“Mojisola won with 7,143 votes ahead of the PDP that polled 1,815 votes, while AD polled 19 votes and SDP eight votes,” she said.
According to Lawal-Are, Apapa Constituency 1 recorded 74,740 registered voters and 9,103 accredited voters.
Also, the Returning Officer for the State House of Assembly election in Apapa Constituency II, Prof. Monday Ubagha, declared Wahab as the winner.
Ubagha, the Dean, Faculty of Education, UNILAG, said: “I hereby declare that Olumuyiwa Wahab of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.
“Wahab won with 13,058 votes ahead of Oluyinka Babawale of PDP who had 3,736 votes.
“The number of registered voters for Apapa Constituency II is 116,066, while the number of accredited voters is 18,063,” Ubagha said.
