Tax Generation: Magu Commends FIRS, Calls for More Collaboration

The acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has commended the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, for the giant strides achieved in the area of tax generation.


Giving the commendation, on February 11, 2019 Magu who was represented by Lawrence Iwodi, Head, EFCC Maiduguri Zonal Office, during a visit to the FIRS further called for more collaboration with in the area of fighting corruption.

He said: “We want to use this opportunity to commend on your recent achievements on tax collection.

“The FIRS is an important agency that we need to continue to collaborate with as part of efforts to reduce corruption in the society to the barest minimum.


“The achievements recorded so far, should be sustained by the EFCC and the FIRS for the benefit of the country at large, so that, years coming will be better than the previous ones.”

On his part, Task Controller, Umbugadu Dauda, appreciated the EFCC team for the visit, and promised to “continue to work with the EFCC and to give timely response to any request from the EFCC”.
