Stop school feeding programme, Niger NLC tells Federal Government

The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Niger State Chapter, Idris Ndako, on Monday told the Federal Government to henceforth stop its school feeding programme policy, describing it as a waste of public resources.

Ndako, who disclosed this in Minna while speaking at “a solemn assembly” organised by the Niger State wing of the NUT suggested that the money being spent on the school feeding programme should be channelled to other ventures that would benefit majority of Nigerians.

According to him, the Federal Government had recently claimed it spends well over N9bn monthly on the feeding of several thousands of pupils in public schools across the country.

He declared, “The Federal Government should immediately stop the school feeding programme; it is total corruption. They should use the money for other programmes, like committing the money to the renovation of schools.”
