Tension is brewing at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s collation centre in the Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State as soldiers chased away party agents and supporters from the premises.

The Oyo South Senatorial District election would be announced at the centre.

Trouble started at the centre when some agents of the All Progressives Congress beat up and chased their counterparts in Peoples Democratic Party out of the collation hall.

The APC agents had insisted that only the party supervisors should be in the hall.

In the ensuing confusion, soldiers and men of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps intervened and sent all the party agents and supporters out of the premises.

Supervisor of each party was allowed into the hall as collation of the results are underway.

A soldier asked the party supervisors to stand as he took their pictures without giving any explanation.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Kola Balogun of the Peoples Democratic Party, Soji Akanbi of African Democratic Congress and Dr. Fola Akinosun are the senatorial candidates from the district.
