The APC governorship candidate in Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has appealed to the Kwara electorate to replicate the victory recorded by the party in the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The governorship election is slated for March 9.
AbdulRazaq made the call on Monday in Ilorin at a press briefing attended by the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, to celebrate the APC’s victory at the Saturday elections.
He congratulated all the lawmakers-elect for their deserving victory, adding that Kwara people have fought a good and noble fight in the defence of people’s dignity.
“Our feat is now being acknowledged across the world and that underscores the historical relevance of this development in our state.
“But, we must not relent. It is not over until we repeat the same feat 100 per cent on March 9 during the governorship and House of Assembly polls.
“Let’s continue to educate and mobilise our people to understand that the job is only half-done at the moment,” AbdulRazaq added.
He thanked God for His enduring mercies and historical electoral feat which had taken people of Kwara many miles away from “Pharaoh’s Egypt.”
“We thank the resilient people of Kwara for making this happen. We have gone down in history as the breakers of the long-standing political jinx in Kwara.
“We have also proved that our people, with their massive votes for President Muhammadu Buhari, believe in good governance, probity and decency,” he added.
AbdulRazaq said that total liberation would only come when the party takes over government in Kwara through ballot boxes and then use same to restore sanity and good governance in the state.
“We thank the security agencies and the electoral commission officials for standing firm in the face of some last-ditch efforts to suppress people’s votes.
“We look forward to the same patriotic action before, during and after the March 9 elections.
