Deji Adeyanju

A Kano State Magistrate’s  Court on Monday  granted the  bail application of the Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, remanded in Kano Prison since last year.

Adeyanju was re-arrested in December last year over the  allegations that he was involved in a murder case in  Kano in 2005.

The human rights activist was discharged and acquitted in 2009 after a protracted trial before  the Kano State High Court. But when the matter came up on Monday morning, Adeyanju was granted bail in the sum of N50,000, including two sureties and told to deposit his passport with the court.

One of his associates, Oluyemi Fasipe, who confirmed his bail to reporters, said  the  bail bond consisted  of N500,000, including two sureties with landed properties in Kano.
