Two killed in Benue community over who control market levy

Two persons have been reportedly killed and property worth millions of naira destroyed following an outbreak of violence in Kornya , Konshisha Local Government Area of  Benue State.


Kornya is the hometown of the senator representing Benue -Northeast , Chief Barnabas  Gemade.

The violence broke out between two rival groups over who should collect levy at the local market.

Members of the rival groups proceeded to set houses on fire and attacked one another with knives and cutlasses.

Police spokesman, DSP Moses Yamu said he was yet to receive report on the crisis.
