The Kano State Command of the Federal Fire Service on January 17, 2019 held a sensitization exercise for staff of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on safety measures to prevent fire outbreak, and how to manage a fire incident.
Fire Officer, Sabo Abdullahi gave insight into the various classes of fire outbreak, which he said included, Class A, B, C and D.
According to him, the EFCC “is a very sensitive organisation and therefore needs a fire section with trained officials from among their staff”.
He advised members of staff, to “be wary of their surroundings and ensure that there are enough fire extinguishing tools around them”.
“It is also advisable that all electrical appliances are switched off at home and at the offices, when leaving home or going to bed,” he added.
Zonal Head of the EFCC Office, Garba Dugum, commended the Fire Service for the efforts aimed at ensuring the safety of lives and properties and for engaging the EFCC.
“We assure you that we will put into practice all that you have taught us,” he said.
