EFCC South East Zone Gets New Head

The Enugu Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, representing the South-East Zone, now has a new Head. He is Imam Usman.


Usman, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, was the Head, Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCOM Desk at the EFCC Head Office, Abuja, and assumed office on December 4, 2018.

He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 2000 after obtaining a Bachelor of Science, B.Sc. in Public Administrations from the University of Maiduguri, Borno State.

He served in various capacities in Kano State between 2002 and 2005 at Zaria Road Divison, Kano State Traffic Office and superintended the conduct of party primaries including that of the People Democratic Party.

In 2005, Usman was seconded to the EFCC where he became a team leader in the Advance Fee Fraud Unit at the Lagos zonal office. He has had stints with the Economic Governance Unit, Asset Forfeiture Unit, and Intellectual Property Theft.

He has had professional trainings in various fields at the EFCC Academy, Karu Abuja; United States Global Intellectual Academy, Alexandria, Virginia, USA; Cape Town, South Africa and in Malaysia Anti-Corruption Academy among others.

He takes over from Danmusa Adamu, who is now Zonal Head, Maiduguri.
