Teenager remanded for defiling nine-year-old girl

An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court has remanded in prison a 19-year-old, Oladosun Sodiq, for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old girl.


The accused, according to the prosecutor, Inspector Johnson Okunade, committed the offence on September 15 in Ijero-Ekiti.

Okunade said the offence contravenes Section 218 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State 2012.

The prosecutor urged the court to remand the accused in prison pending legal advice from the office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).


The plea of the accused was not taken.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Adesoji Adegboye, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending the issuance of the legal advice.

Adegboye adjourned the matter till October 10 for mention.
