Those mooting legacy parties against Buhari’s reelection bid, says Oshiomhole

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has said proponents of legacy parties are those opposed to the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

The legacy parties of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) merged in 2014 to form the APC.

Oshiomhole, who spoke when he received former members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) led by the former Deputy National Chairman, Alhaji Rasaq Musa and Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, said all those interested in moving the country forward should discuss issues that will unite the party.

The APC national chairman, who appealed to all leaders of the party to discuss issues that will unite the APC, said after the merger of the legacy parties that gave birth to the APC, the respective parties have ceased to exist.

Oshiomhole said: “Only those who are against President Buhari’s re-election will at the eve of election be talking about legacy parties.

“It is completely non- existence and we must all work to remove it from our heart.

“I know the present and we are looking at the future. When people form groups, I said it is not helpful. Those are tools to cause disunity in the party and I have never believed in groups.

“I have also read the papers people say they are leaving the party because of their selfish interests.

“Let see ourselves as children of the same father and not children from different mothers.”
