Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the death of three policemen at a quarry site in Lambar Mazaru, Bodinga Local Government Area.
The quarry site is owned by Triacta Construction Company, and managed by a Syrian, Abul Nasir.
The policemen,who guarded the quarry site, were killed when gunmen came to abduct Nasir.
Police spokesman Cordelia Nwawe said the incident occurred yesterday at about 7.20 am.
Nwawe said the deceased were confirmed dead in hospital. She said investigation had begun.
Security men at the quarry site said four hoodlums came in a car with tinted glass. They opened fire on the policemen as they arrived the site and took Nasir away.
