Two persons have been arrested for hijacking a truck conveying Trophy lager beer coming from Ilesa and heading towards Iragbiji in Osun State at gun point.
The value of the beer has been put at N2, 714,000.
Those arrested were Saheed Omotosho and Adijat Azeez.
The spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement that the arrest of the suspects followed a distress call received by policemen attached to the Sagamu Area Command that a truck marked LEW 615 XA has been hijacked by three armed men while coming from Ilesa, Osun State.
Abimbola said the truck had gone to convey the beer and was hijacked but a vehicle tracking device installed on truck indicated that the hijackers were heading towards Sagamu.
According to him, the Area Commander, Sagamu Division, Ibrahim Muhammad, quickly alerted the patrol team around the area to look out for the truck and the armed men.
