There was a fire outbreak at the Sokoto old market last night according to reports.
It was gathered that the fire incident which cause was yet to be known occurred at about 9:30pm after the close of business.
However, the state fire service had deployed its personnel to the site just as sympathisers and other good samaritans joined in trying to bring the fire under control.
Also at the scene to ensure security as well check the activities of hoodlums were men of the Nigerian police.
As at the time of filing the report, the men of the fire service were still battling to control the fire from spreading.
