Mother chokes young daughter and kicks her out of the house for not knowing Bible verses

A mother beat her daughter and bit her because she did not know her Bible, according to police in Pennsylvania.

Middletown police said that they have arrested 41-year-old Rhonda Kemp Shoffner, after being accused of slamming her daughter’s head into the bathroom wall numerous times.

Shoffner has been charged with aggravated assault against a child, strangulation and terroristic threats. She was booked into the Dauphin County prison, and her bail has been set at $100,000.

According to the criminal complaint, the girl, who is under 13 years old, told police that her mother had been drunk for three days straight.

One afternoon, Shoffner ordered her daughter to get on her knees in the bathroom. The girl complied and Shoffner ordered her to recite Bible verses.

Shoffner began to choke her daughter who fought back.

Shoffner then bit her daughter on the forearm and shoulder.

After the girl successfully pushed her mother away, Shoffner Kicked her out of house and told her never to return. The girl grabbed a few things and her phone, and ran out of the house.

She called her father, who took her to the police station to file a complaint.
