Police are looking for a group of men, who shot three family members over a purse.

Diana Gomez, 27, said that she was unloading groceries from her car on Monday night, when she and her three children were approached by a group of men, who tried stealing her purse.

The masked thieves yanked on the purse that Gomez had over her body. When they were unable to snatch the purse quick enough, the men began shooting.

Gomez’s four-year-old Ava was shot in the face, and she succumbed to her injuries. Her 10-year-old sister Betsy, who was shot in the stomach, was treated and released from the hospital.

Their mother was badly injured and she was hooked up to a breathing tube.

When she regained consciousness, Gomez was only able to communicate with family members with pen and paper.

Family members said that Gomez asked about her kids, and when she was informed that her youngest child was no longer alive, she was devastated and cried out in pain.

Gomez’s five-year-old son, Isaiah, was also there, but he was not injured. He and Betsy are being cared for by their father, who is separated from their mother.

Gomez said that the thieves never gave her a chance to remove her purse to hand it over to them.
