Giant panda wrestles with intruder ‘trying to impress women’ in Chinese zoo

A tourist was left humiliated after he was tackled to the ground by a bear.

The man, who was identified as Chen, was at the Nanchang Zoo in China, along with two female friends when he felt the need to show off.

Chen climbed into the panda’s enclosure. The panda, known as Mei Ling, was sleeping at the time.

However, Chen kept bugging the animal. He waved his hand in front of the pandas face, and when he did not get a response, he stoked the panda’s back.

While pandas are know to be friendly and social animals, Mei Ling finally had enough. It pounced on Chen and grabbed his leg.

The 264 pound animal dragged Chen around on the ground. A desperate Chen tried to fight the animal, but was unsuccessful.

He finally used a wrestling-style move to get the animal to free him. When the animal let go of his leg, Chen ran to the exit.

Witnesses said that Chen’s pants were torn, but he did not suffer any physical injuries.

“The young man left the zoo right after he escaped the enclosure, and we could not get in touch with him,” Kuang Huaming, who is a spokesperson for the Nanchang Zoo, said.

“We arranged medical checks for the panda. So far, the panda is fine,” Huaming added.
