Former Jay Z protégé takes plea deal in pimp case

A former Jay Z protégé took a plea deal Thursday after copping to promoting prostitution in exchange for 2 1/2 to 5 years in prison.

Malcolm Byer, 42, will have his sentence run concurrently with a driving while intoxicated bust he’s already serving.

Byer, who goes by “Wais P the Pimp” and considers himself a “pimp hop” artist, had long denied being a real-life pimp.

His lawyers were set to argue in Manhattan Supreme Court that his music is not proof of any real life pimping.

But Byer took a deal that may see him free in a year or less.

He had faced up to seven years behind bars if convicted at trial.
