Passenger who missed plane makes fake bomb attack call in Turkey’s east

A passenger who missed a plane made a fake bomb attack notice in order to make the plane heading to Istanbul return to the eastern province of Iğdır on Oct. 8.

The passenger, identified only as Tamer B., called the police and told them that “there was a bomb on the plane.” The Turkish Airlines plane returned to the airport in Iğdır upon Tamer B.’s notice, Doğan News Agency reported.

The police detained Tamer B. after it was determined that the notice was fake.

In his testimony, Tamer B. said that he “got angry” for missing the plane and showed it as the reason for making the fake notice.

The plane took off from the airport after nearly three hours of search on board.
