Tourist throws rocks at drivers and destroys road signs because nobody wanted to give him a free ride out of town

A tourist in New Zealand, was arrested on a charge of wilful damage after being accused of destroying road signs and throwing rocks at drivers because he was unable to find a free ride out of town, according to police.

Now, 27-year-old Cedric Claude Rene Rault-Verpre of France, is facing up to three months in prison after pleading guilty to wilful damage.

According to the police investigation, Rault-Verpre became angry after trying to get a free ride out of Punakaiki. After four days, Rault-Verpre lied down on the road and began abusing drivers.

He threw rocks at drivers who refused to give him a ride and destroyed road signs. He even threw one road sign into a river.

Police were called after Rault-Verpre became verbally abusive towards passersby.

Rault-Verpre claimed that he visited more than 80 countries and has been to the worst parts of the United States, but has never met such bad people as New Zealanders.
