Couple gets married in underground tunnel after getting stuck in traffic jam on way to their wedding

A couple exchanged vows in front of many strangers after getting stuck in a traffic jam.

While most brides and grooms would panic if they got caught in a traffic jam, one couple from Shaanxi, China, decided to turn the bad situation into something positive.

The bride and groom were trapped in the tunnel after a car accident took place near the exit of the tunnel and all traffic came to a standstill.

Realizing that they could be there for a while, the couple decided that they have to act quickly.

According to their custom, marriages have to take place before noon. The bride and groom refused to allow the unfortunate circumstances to ruin their big day.

The called their wedding guests, who were also trapped in the tunnel, and they decided to exchange vows right there among all the stranded cars.

They bride and groom were surrounded by friends, family and strangers, who had nowhere else to go. They all came out of their cars to rejoice in the couple’s special moment.

The couple exchanged vows in the dim light of the tunnel and then they kissed as the crowed cheered.

People were seen holding their iPhones to record the special moment of two people who love each other so much that they did not let the disappointment ruin special their day.

Just after noon, the accident was cleared and the tunnel was reopened to traffic. The newlyweds then went to their wedding hall to continue with the celebration.
