A truck driver was arrested on a charge of dangerous driving after allegedly playing Pokemon Go while driving before slamming into two pedestrians, according to police in Japan.
Tokushima police said that they have arrested the truck driver, 39-year-old Keiji Goou, after running over two women, killing one of them while seriously injuring the other.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Tuesday around 7:30 p.m. The truck driver was playing Pokemon Go when he slammed into the two women who were trying to cross the street.
72-year-old Yukiko Nakanishi died at the scene while 60-year-old Kayoko Igawa was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The truck driver remained at the scene, and admitted to police that he was distracted because he was playing Pokemon Go on his cellphone.
