Manchester United legend Denis Law is recovering at home after collapsing on board an aeroplane and subsequently being rushed to hospital.
The 76-year-old, who also had two spells at Manchester City, was bound for Menorca from Manchester Airport with his wife but had to be taken to a local hospital after fainting before take-off.
Following a series of tests the former Scotland international was allowed to return home and later explained to The Sun: “I went white and did not feel well at all. The next thing I collapsed in my seat.
“I feel better now but I’m having tests as it’s happened before a few times in the past few years.”
It is believed the episode came as a result of a condition related to the cranial nerve.
Law spent 11 years at Old Trafford between 1962 and 1973, scoring 237 times for United as part of the famed ‘Holy Trinity’ alongside George Best and Bobby Charlton.
He then returned to City, with whom he had spent one season in 1960-61, scoring a famous back-heeled goal on his return to Old Trafford as United were relegated from Division One.
In 2003 Law battled with prostate cancer before being given the all-clear by specialists.
