24-year-old train passenger dies after oncoming train knocked off his head while leaning out of window

A young train passenger tragically died after being struck by an oncoming train while leaning out a window, according to police in the United Kingdom.

The British Transport Police said that the 24-year-old man was traveling on the Gatwick Express to London Victoria from Gatwick Airport.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, the man leaned out the window while the train was traveling at a high speed. Unfortunately, the man’s hit was hit by an oncoming speeding train.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene, attempted to save the man, but they were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We have responded to an incident at the Wandsworth Common today. Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene by the doctor from LDN air ambulance,” police wrote on Twitter.
