Police detained a young man who pulled out a long snake while traveling
on a train, and using it to scare passengers, according to police in
Australia.
Brisbane police said that the man has had his snake confiscated after
revealing it to fellow passengers on a Central Coast train on Wednesday.
About 1:00 a.m., police from the Brisbane Water Local Area Command were
called to meet a northbound train at Woy Woy Railway Station, following
reports there was a man with a live snake on board.
Police were told that a 20-year-old man produced the three-foot-long
jungle python from a backpack and began to show it to fellow passengers.
A number of passengers were concerned for their welfare and contacted the police.
Officers spoke to the man at the Woy Woy Railway Station, and he stated
that he did not have a permit for the snake, named Bread.
Police confiscated the snake and sent it to the Woy Woy Police Station,
where it is expected to be examined by staff from a reptile park.
