A little boy screamed in panic after a large eagle grabbed him and tried
to fly away during a popular wildlife show in Australia.
A crowd of stunned spectators watched the huge bird grab the 7-year-old
child’s head during the show at the Alice Springs Desert Park in Flynn.
Witnesses said that the bird tried to pick the boy up like prey.
The boy managed to escape with just a slight injury to his face.
The attack left the child crying and bleeding. The attack lasted just a
couple of seconds before the park staff intervened. The show was stopped
after the attack.
The boy was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The park issued a statement, saying that on Wednesday, an incident
occurred at the Alice Springs Desert Park, where an eagle made contact
with an audience member.
The parks launched an investigation into the circumstances behind this
incident. The eagle was removed from the show, pending the outcome of
the investigation.
