Former BBC journalist hanged herself in an airport toilet after missing flight, inquest hears

A BBC journalist lost her mind and killed herself after learning that
she missed her flight, according to investigators in the United Kingdom.

The North London Coroner’s Court heard that 50-year-old Jacqueline
Sutton, was waiting to catch a flight from Turkey to Iraq, when she
learned that she missed her flight.

According to the police investigation, Sutton drank beer in the
departure lounge of the Ataturk Airport. When passengers began boarding
the flight to Iraq, she went to the bathroom.

When she came out of the bathroom, Sutton realized that she missed the
flight. She told staff that she had no money to pay for another flight,
and she began to cry.

Sutton then returned to the bathroom, but never came out. Her body was
found hanging by two women who alerted police. A court ruled that Sutton
committed suicide.
