Several people suffered burns after their followed the advice of a
popular motivational speaker and stepped on hot coals, according to
police in Texas.
Dallas police said that the incident unfolded on Thursday night, as
hundreds of people gathered at an event that was hosted by Tony Robbins.
People at the “Unleash the Power Within” event, which was held at the
Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, were told to walk on hot coals
in order to improve their quality of life.
As a result of walking on the hot coals, around 40 people suffered burns
to their feet. 5 people were taken to the Parkland Hospital burn unit,
where they were treated and released.
The others were treated and released at the scene.
The three-day seminar promised to help people break through any limit,
improve their quality of life and unleash their power from within.
