Two television reporters were arrested on a charge of child abuse after
their baby was found to have cocaine in his system, according to police
in Arizona.
Oro Valley police said that they have arrested 26-year-old Krystin
Lisaius and her husband, 42-year-old Somchai Lisaius, after their
4-month-old child was taken to a hospital with cocaine in his system.
The two suspects were charged with possession of a dangerous drug, drug
paraphernalia and child abuse. Krystin worked at KGUN-TV while Somchai
was a reporter for Tucson News Now.
They are no longer employed. According to the police, the baby was taken
to a hospital after it appeared to be in distress while breastfeeding
from the mother.
Tests that were performed at the hospital revealed cocaine in the body
of the 4-month-old child. A witness told police that he saw the mother
snorting cocaine before breastfeeding the child.
