Rivers election tribunal nullifies election of state House of Assembly speaker, 20 PDP lawmakers

Few days after nullifying the election of the state governor, Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja yesterday nullified the election of the state assembly speaker, Owaji Ibami (pictured above) and 20 PDP state lawmakers. With this new development, the state Assembly has been rendered ineffective due to the reduction in the number of lawmakers. 32 lawmakers make up the state Assembly. With the nullification of 21 lawmakers, only 12 of them appear to be eligible and this is too small for the house to run effectively.
