A mass wedding was held for 20 disadvantaged couples, including 12 couples with disabilities in Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City, Vietnam, on September 19, 2014.
The wedding was held by the HCM City Vocational Training Association at a restaurant in Binh Thanh District.
The couple have been living together for many years but they could not organize a wedding.
Among the couples are Nguyen Van Dung, 43, and Mrs. Tran Thi Tuyet Nga, 42, who come from Dong Thap province. They went to HCM City to sell lottery tickets. They met and lived together without a wedding.
The couples were presented with meaningful wedding gifts such as wedding clothes, wedding rings, wedding invitations and more.
They were also invited to counseling classes on “pre-nuptial physiology”, “maternal and child health” and “family financial management”.
The wedding made them feel more happy and confident. Many people could not hold back tears.
It was truly an emotional event for all who attended, especially the couples.
