Have you ever heard the saying “Age is just a number”? Well, this couple gives a new meaning to that statement.
Australian billionaire, Richard Lugner, 81, married German Playboy model, Cathy Schmitz, 24, in the 1,441 room Schonbrunn Palace.
The pair only met in February of this year and became engaged last month.
Lugner, who made his fortune in the construction business, acknowledged the 57 year age gap in an interview earlier this year with The Local.
“Apart from the big age difference, everything fits,” he told the paper.
He is famed for inviting a string of A-list women to the annual Vienna Opera Ball.
In previous years he has invited Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson, Raquel Welch and even Kim Kardashian.
Schmitz was a Playboy cover girl in Germany in 2013.
She announced her marriage on her Facebook page saying: “In love, engaged, married!”
Later she said the day was “an incredible and unforgettable experience”.
