An
Irish tourist was killed in the Bodrum district of the Aegean province
of Muğla on June 3. John Edward Donnelly, 64, arrived in the district 20
days ago and rented a vacation apartment. His body was found naked in
the apartment with stab wounds in his back at 2 p.m. after his neighbors
saw a bloodied knife in front of the building and notified the police.

His
dead body was sent to the forensic medicine institute in Muğla for an
autopsy after examinations, which revealed that a struggle between the
killer and the victim took place.
Video footage obtained from
nearby security cameras showed two men leaving the building. The
residents of the building told the police that they didn’t know who
those people were.

The police were working to apprehend the suspects involved in the murder.

An investigation into the incident was ongoing.
