Police are looking to arrest a man on a charge of theft after allegedly stealing a cellphone from a woman before using the device to post a selfie on the victim’s Facebook page, according to police in Australia.
Melbourne police said that the incident unfolded around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The suspect entered the reception area of an apartment complex and approached the counter of the staff members working on the first floor.
The 20-year-old man saw a cellphone on the counter, and when the employees were distracted, he took the mobile device and ran out of the building.
No one was physically injured in the robbery. He got into a car with another woman, and they fled from the scene. A few minutes later, the victim noticed that the thief posted a selfie on her Facebook page.
The photos shows the thief sitting in the getaway car next to a woman. The man was last seen wearing a camouflage cap, a black jacket, three quarter pants, and black and white shoes.
