ONE YEAR OF SHARED PROSPERITY IN IMO STATE
IMO YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
As the Imo State Governor Sen. Hope Uzodimma is set to mark his one year in office anniversary, Imolites should count their blessings and name the achievements of the shared prosperity government one by one and surely our joy will know no bounds.
One out of the many achievements of Gov. Hope Uzodimma is the several empowerment programs initiated by his administration. Indeed imo state and Imolites have not seen a government that is so particular about empowering her people and one thing so dear about this empowerment drive is that it cuts across gender, age, social strata, academic qualifications, etc.
The creation of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition as first of its kind in the state was an opener and a confirmation of the mantra of “Shared Prosperity” because as a matter of fact Gov. Hope Uzodimma is very much interested developing the entrepreneurial spirit and imbibing the knowledge of several skills on Imolites thereby making them Job creators rather than Job seekers. This explains that the governor believes in the hidden potential of every imo Son and Daughter.
Though it is a celebration of a fulfilled one year in office, the empowerment programs ordinarily would takes years for others to achieve such as;
-The Micro-enterprise development for the youths to be engaged in meaningful trade through the CBN and NIRSAL loans
-5000 youths empowerment programs
-Fashion and garment skill acquisition
-Training of 305 imo women on Spices Production
-Agricultural and Seedlings empowerment
– FG assisted Rabbit farming in the state through NALDA.
-Skills and ICT training for imo youths,etc.
It is therefore in order to address Gov. Hope Uzodimma as Mr. Empowerment since he has surpassed his predecessors just in one year in office and he is obviously in a hurry to deliver more empowerment programs and schemes for imo people. One needs not to think far as to why kidnapping, Armed robbery and other types of crimes has reduced in Imo because Gov. Hope Uzodimma is busy empowering our youths through due process and without fear or favour.
We the imo people congratulate our Mr. Empowerment, Gov. Hope Uzodimma on a successful and empowering one year in office and wish him well as another milestone journey begins.
