“The Draft Law on the Unification of Municipalities” is being discussed in the Assembly of the Republic. UBP Deputy, Chairman of the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee of the Republic Assembly Özdemir Berova, stated that with the Municipalities Amendment Law No. 51/95, the personal rights of the municipal employees will not be touched, and emphasized that the local elections will be held with 18 municipalities.
National Unity Party (UBP) Deputy, Chairman of the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee of the Assembly of the RepublicÖzdemir Berova stated that the Municipalities Amendment Bill No. 51/95 is on the agenda of the committee.
Özdemir Berova ‘s speech in the Assembly of the Republic is as follows:
“For the past week, our committee has met almost every day. We will also make the Municipalities Amendment Draft Bill ready, based on the internal evaluation of our committee. We will pass 51/95 through parliament. The explanations that municipality workers or personnel will lose their personal rights are unfounded. By sitting down and talking with the unions one-on-one, the working municipality personnel will continue in the same areas and with responsibility.”
“WE WILL GO TO LOCAL ELECTIONS WITH 18 MUNICIPALITIES”
Berova noted that local elections will be held with 18 municipalities. Berova said, “After the merger, municipalities will be more transparent and accountable, and the Municipalities Amendment Bill No. 51/95 will also be passed by the parliament.”
