Unions organized in municipalities will hold a general warning strike and an action in front of the Assembly tomorrow. DEV-İŞ Chairman Koral Aşam stated that they demanded that the Municipalities (Amendment) Draft Law be re-submitted to the committee, and that they see the main problems in the municipalities and demand that it be rearranged without ignoring the scientific criteria and the Constitution.

Revolutionary Workers’ Unions Federation (DEV-İŞ), Municipal Workers’ Union (BES) and Famagusta Türk Genel-İŞ will hold a general warning strike and an action in front of the Assembly of the Republic, demanding that the Municipalities (Amendment) Bill be withdrawn to the committee and discussed again.

Making a statement on behalf of DEV-İŞ, BES and Famagusta Türk Genel-İŞ, DEV-İŞ Chairman Koral Aşam stated that they demanded that the Municipalities (Amendment) Bill be re-submitted to the committee, seeing the main problems in the municipalities, and re-arranging it without ignoring the scientific criteria and the Constitution. .

Asham said:

“The government, which ignores the fact that the main problems in municipalities that have become unsustainable are the bad, partisan and populist management style, tries to hide that the main source of economic problems is the transfer of municipal shares from local revenues to the finances with pencil games.

The draft law, which they passed through the committee with the same imposing understanding and finger calculation last week, knowing that it is unconstitutional, but imposed only on numbers, without being bound by any scientific criteria, is brought to the General Assembly of the Assembly tomorrow with the same imposing understanding.”

“WE WILL RESIST IN FRONT OF THE PARLIAMENT”

Stating that if the draft law is passed by the General Assembly as it is, all municipalities will be “pushed into an unsustainable chaos”, Aşam noted that the people of the town will not be able to receive the local service they deserve and that the Collective Bargaining Agreements cannot be implemented even though they are protected in the draft.

In the statement of Aşam, “Therefore, we, the unions organized in the municipalities, DEV-İŞ, BES and Famagusta Türk Genel-İŞ, demand that the bill be re-submitted to the committee, seeing the main problems in the municipalities, without ignoring the scientific criteria and the constitution, and demanding that it be rearranged in its current form.

We share with the public that we will resist in front of the Parliament in line with our general warning strike that we announced tomorrow to shout that we do not accept the bill.
