Public Workers Union takes “collective bargaining agreement” to judiciary

The Public Workers Union (Kamu-İş) announced that they would bring the issue to the judiciary by repeating the ‘Collective Bargaining Agreement’ demand of subcontracted workers.

In a written statement made by Kamu-Is, it was pointed out that the government won the tender for cleaning despite all their attempts on the issue of subcontracted workers, and argued that the wrong step continued to be taken to condemn the people who work unorganized to starvation and to exploit the worker.

The statement, which alleged that the government took illegal steps despite being on the streets against subcontracting, included the following statements:

“We will not remain silent and insensitive to this system and order. While our members who are suspended from work and receiving janitorial services are standing still and the situation they are in is ignored, it is incompatible with the labor laws to employ them through tenders. They need to know that they cannot employ new workers. For this reason, we are taking our request for a Collective Bargaining Agreement of Subcontracted Workers to the judiciary. We will also use our legal right of action to the fullest.”
