The Police Fire Department warned citizens against fires with a statement titled “Timely measures taken prevent disaster”.

In the statement made by the Fire Department, it was reminded that it is forbidden to light fires until October 31 and the list of 10-point measures was shared.

Here’s the explanation:

“1) It is forbidden to light any kind of fire between 1 May and 31 October, even if it is for cleaning purposes. It should not be forgotten that in areas that are not suitable for lighting fires, the fire burned may be out of our control and cause a fire.

2) When traveling, cigarette butts should not be thrown from our vehicles on the roadsides or in the field.

3) Do not throw cigarette butts into garbage cans and on any combustible substance or materials without making sure that they are completely extinguished.

4) It should not be forgotten that bottles or glass pieces act as lenses when they are under the sun and may cause fire.

5) In order to prevent short circuits that will occur due to overload in the electrical installations in your vehicles, workplaces and residences, have your electrical installations checked by experts in a timely manner.

6) During the work with the spiral (izmirillo) and welding machine, it is necessary to clean the dry grasses and other materials around the area to be studied. From the sparks from such tools, our crops and bales may be burned, or the fire may spread to fields or woodlands by the burning of dry grass. When such works are to be carried out, it is necessary to have a fire extinguishing device and equipment for extinguishing fires.

7) Do not leave your portable chargers (powerbanks) in the vehicle or in places with direct sunlight.

8) Having a dry chemical powder type fire extinguishing device with a maximum capacity of 2 kg inside your vehicles and learning the use of this device will prevent the fire from growing and a possible danger to arise.

9) Insuring your workplace and residence against any fire risk will help you to eliminate the material damage that will occur.

10) Immediately of our citizens who see any signs of smoke or fire; They are kindly requested to reach the 199 Fire Brigade Fire Hotline, the 177 Forest Fire Hotline or the 155 Police Hotline.”
