Arne Slot’s smooth transition as Liverpool manager carried on as his side secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday.
Liverpool controlled the match from the outset and took the lead early with a well-executed counter-attack. Luis Diaz opened his account for the season with a stunning strike into the top corner after just 13 minutes.
Brentford showed resilience, coming close to equalizing with two headed efforts either side of halftime. However, Mohamed Salah sealed the win for the hosts with a second goal 20 minutes from time, dashing any hopes Brentford had of a comeback at Anfield.
Dutchman Slot has now overseen two consecutive 2-0 victories in his opening two matches, stepping into the shoes of former boss Juergen Klopp. Next up for Liverpool is a challenging away fixture against Manchester United.
