Protest Erupts at University of Ibadan Over Fee Hikes and Power Rationing

Students of the University of Ibadan (UI) have taken to the streets to protest against the management’s decisions regarding electricity supply and fee hikes, among other issues.

The protest began late on Tuesday and continued into Wednesday, with students holding placards at the front of the university gate.

The protesters barricaded the main entrance of the institution, preventing vehicles from entering the university.

Channels Television visited the school on Wednesday and observed students carrying placards and sitting on the access road to the main gate. Another group of students gathered at Trenchard Hall, chanting various songs to express their grievances.
