Katsina Police kill one bandit, recover 60 sheep, AK-47

The Katsina State Police Command said it has killed one suspected bandit and recovered sixty (60) rustled sheep alongside an AK-47 rifle in Korogo village of Daddara District in Jibia Local Government Area of the State.

One hundred and ten (110) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, were also recovered as investigation is ongoing.

The hoodlums, in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons such as AK-47 rifles, were said to have invaded the village early Wednesday, shooting sporadically.

The Katsina police spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, in a statement, said, the command through the DPO Jibia upon receiving a report, unhesitatingly, mobilized a team of operatives to the scene and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel.

As a result, they were forced to abandon their heinous mission and scamper into the nearby bush.

“While combing the scene, the body of one (1) neutralized suspected bandit, sixty (60) rustled sheep, as well as one AK 47 rifle with one hundred and ten (110) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, were recovered. The investigation is ongoing,” he noted.
